In 1875, two Swiss craftsmen, Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet, founded Audemars Piguet, a company in Le Brassus dedicated to fine watchmaking. Today, Audemars Piguet remains the oldest manufacturer of precision writstwatches never to have left the hands of its founding families.
Audemars Piguet amazed the watch world in 1972 with the debut of the Royal Oak, the first luxury sport watch in a steel case. The Royal Oak’s iconic, octagonal shape with eight screws is a distinctive trademark of the Audemars Piguet Manufacture.
