Estate Early-20th Century 6-Piece Silver Tea & Coffee Service

George III-style handmade 6-piece tea and coffee service in sterling silver, comprising a hot water kettle with hinged cover and stand, teapot with hinged cover, coffee pot with hinged cover, sugar bowl with removable cover, milk jug and waste bowl, the service with ornate foliate patterning on each piece, as well as elegantly carved wood handles, the hot water kettle is dated 1919 and the other pieces 1923 and 1924, marked 'CRICHTON' for Crichton Bros. and 'MADE IN ENGLAND'. Hot water kettle measuring 13.75" with handle. Coffee pot measuring 10.75" in height. Teapot measuring 8.25" in height. 177 ounces approximate gross weight.

The pieces are stamped 'LAC' for Lionel Alfred Crichton (1866-1938) who founded Crichton Brothers in the 1890's. The firm specialized in selling antique silver but also started to manufacture exceptional handmade reproductions of antique styles in the early-20th century.
