Luminor 1950 8-Days Chrono Monopulsante GMT (PAM00311)
The Panerai Luminor 1950 8-Days Chrono Monopulsante GMT (ref. PAM00311) features the Panerai P.2004 caliber mechanical manual winding movement with an approximate eight-day power reserve when fully wound; brown dial; single button chronograph (activated by pressing the button at 8 o'clock) with 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock; power reserve display using an innovative linear indicator at 6 o'clock; dual time zone subdial at 9 o'clock with AM/PM indicator; sapphire-crystal, transparent case back; and 44mm, brushed titanium case on a brown alligator strap with a large-sized, brushed titanium ardillon buckle.
An Innovative Single-Button Chronograph
This chronograph is complicated and unusual; instead of the usual two buttons, it has only one, which, when pressed again and again starts, stops and resets the central hand. This push-piece is positioned at 8 o’clock in order to maintain the unmistakable appearance of Luminor watches, with the bridge protecting the winding crown, a distinctive feature of the design of Luminor cases. But the heart of the movement consists of the sophisticated system for controlling the chronograph functions: the column wheel, a characteristic feature of high-quality chronographs, ensures the greatest precision in starting, stopping and resetting the chronograph hands.
