Designed to subvert watchmaking rules, the Ballon Bleu de Cartier was launched in 2007 and rapidly became a resounding success and a Cartier icon.

Created from a new vision of roundness, its double convex silhouette strikes the perfect balance between line and volume.

Each model in the collection features a blue sapphire cabochon set within the seamlessly integrated winding crown, creating the appearance of a floating blue balloon, which gives the collection its name. The crown cap sits under a metal hoop at three o'clock, protecting the blue bubble.

A STRONG SIGNATURE AESTHETIC

Best appreciated when worn, this iconic timepiece sits in a 42mm steel case with a unique convex pebble shape inspired by a new vision of roundness.

Blued-steel sword-shaped hands move gracefully across the silvered guilloche dial, with Roman numerals marking the passing of time. Next to the statement blue crown, a subtle date display sits at 3 o'clock, enhancing functionality without compromising the model's carefully curated aesthetic.

The self-winding mechanical movement 1847 MC Calibre ensures power and precision, while an interchangeable steel bracelet delivers comfort on the wrist.
