Description

Santos-Dumont "La Baladeuse" watch, limited edition of 300 individually numbered timepieces, Manufacture mechanical movement with manual winding, calibre 430 MC. 18K yellow gold case, crown set with a sapphire cabochon, champagne dial, Roman numerals, blued-steel sword-shaped hands, sapphire crystal. Case back engraved with "La Baladeuse" design. Strap in green patina alligator leather, 18K yellow gold ardillon buckle. Case dimensions: 43.5 mm x 31.4 mm, thickness: 7.3 mm. Water-resistant to 3 bar (approx. 30 metres).

1904. Louis Cartier granted the wish of his friend, the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell the time while flying. This was the birth of one of the first ever wristwatches. Featuring a geometric shape and exposed screws, the watch quickly became one of the Maison's watchmaking icons. The Santos rose to the ranks of a classic that would defy the hands of time.
