One name: Gerald Genta.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is perhaps Genta’s most memorable work, and in many ways changed the shape of the watch industry.
The Royal Oak essentially created an entirely new category of 'luxury sport' timepieces, and with it came a new design language which inspired countless other manufactures. What's particularly delightful about the design of the Royal Oak is that it works brilliantly in a number of sizes and casing materials, from steel to carbon fiber or rose gold.
This particular model, reference 15450ST.OO.1256ST.01, features a 37mm stainless steel construction, a white Grand Tappisserie dial with applied luminous baton indices with a matching handset, and the Audemars Piguet Calibre 3120 automatic movement with 60-hour power reserve. This piece remains in new old stock condition with factory stickers throughout. What’s more, it comes with its inner and outer boxes, books, and warranty card, and serialized hang tag.
Perfectly sized at only 37mm wide and 9.8mm thick, this is the perfect Royal Oak execution for both men and women, with a gorgeous, eye-catching dial, to boot.
OVERALL CONDITION
The case is in outstanding condition throughout showing faint wear from gentle use. Bracelet is in as-new, unworn condition showing only faint wear from gentle handling. White macro-tapisserie dial is in equally outstanding, as-new condition with matching handset. Signed crown.
