The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is perhaps Genta’s most memorable work, and in many ways changed the shape of the watch industry.
The Royal Oak essentially created an entirely new category of 'luxury sport' timepieces, and with it came a new design language which inspired countless other manufactures. What's particularly delightful about the design of the Royal Oak is that it works brilliantly in a number of sizes and casing materials, from steel to carbon fiber or solid gold.
This Royal Oak, a modern Reference 15400ST from circa the 2010s, is housed in a 41mm stainless steel case and features a sapphire crystal, a signed crown, a sapphire exhibition caseback, and a crisp and flawless luminous satin white grand tappiserie dial with a matching handset and a date at 3:00. Powered by the Audemars Piguet Calibre 3120 automatic movement, it comes paired to the nothing short of fantastic - integrated stainless steel bracelet with a signed hidden deployant clasp.
