Description

We’re known for our love of DOXA Subs.

In any flavor, any color, from the classic orange-dialed Professional to the stunning silver-dialed Searambler, we love 'em all. In fact, the original inspiration behind Analog:Shift was squarely centered on DOXA!

While not nearly as well-known as the Blancpain Fifty-Fathoms or the Rolex Submariner, the DOXA Sub series played an integral role in the development of the modern diver's watch.

The first generation of the model, introduced in 1967, brought innovations we now take for granted: the unidirectional bezel with the US Navy's no-decompression dive timing marks engraved, the expanding bracelet, and an oversized luminous minute hand. After its introduction, DOXA rapidly became a household name for professional and amateur divers in the late 1960s and 1970s, and the Sub 300 evolved into an even more capable and reliable instrument.

What we have here is a rare black-dialed 'Sharkhunter' model from the first year of production, 1967, a so-called 'No-T' thin cased version only produced for a year. And with its expertly restored rotating dive bezel, it’s a watch that wears far more comfortably than its size would suggest. It’s housed in the classic 42.5mm stainless steel cushion case with a DOXA signed sailing ship case back, a domed acrylic crystal, an automatic-winding ETA movement, and a matching beads-of-rice expandro bracelet with a DOXA signed ratcheting clasp.

With its patina, beautiful dial and standout design, the SUB 300 Sharkhunter is quite simply one of the best dive watches ever produced — making this standout first-generation model a very important part of dive watch history, as well as Analog:Shift's own story. But don’t take our word for it.

Try it on for size!
