But Oris, the family-owned Swiss manufacture from Holstein, produces a contemporary pilot’s watch in the form of the Big Crown Propilot that more than holds its own with these stalwart classics. In fact, with its straightforward design, highly legible dial, and bulletproof construction, it may be one of the best pilot’s watches currently on the market.

This particular Big Crown Propilot Big Day Date from the 2020s is housed in a 44mm stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal, an oversized, signed crown, and a signature Oris engine-turned steel bezel. Utilitarian and clean, it features a luminous matte black dial with printed white Arabic indices, an outer minute track, a matching handset, and a day-date display at 3:00. Powered by the automatic Oris 752 movement based on the Sellita SW220-1, it comes paired to a green textile and leather strap with a signed steel 'seatbelt' clasp.

Case is in fantastic condition overall showing light signs of wear from age and use. Luminous matte black dial with printed 'Arabic' indices is in as-new condition with matching handset. Signed crown. Sapphire exhibition caseback.
