WHY WE LOVE IT

 

Not every timepiece from the world’s greatest watchmaker fits neatly into the mold of an overarching theme or collection. 

While we love a simple Calatrava, a sporty Aquanaut, or a complicated perpetual calendar as much as the next guy, the oddball, more overlooked and usually limited-production, shaped watches made by the maison in second half of the 20th century are often some of the most innovative and charming in the brand’s oeuvre.

Take this Goldolo for example. Dating to circa the 1970s, this Reference 3733/1 features a solid 18k yellow gold construction, with a ribbed-textures case and matching integrated bracelet, a signed crown, a stunning and coveted blue Lapis Lazuli stone dial with a matching dauphine handset, and Patek's Calibre 215 manual-winding movement within. 

Fantastic.

There’s nothing wrong with a classic Calatrava if what you’re after is a handsome, reliable dress watch. But for those in search of something a bit…more, this piece, beautiful and scarce, is a true piece of art — and there's no telling if and when one of these in any condition will surface again — so don't wait!

OVERALL CONDITION

The case is in fantastic condition overall showing light signs of wear from with age and use. Blue Lapis Lazuli’ stone dial is in excellent condition, with no deformities or fractures with matching 'dauphine' handset. Signed crown.
