WHY WE LOVE IT

The term “pilot’s watch” carries a loose definition.

What constitutes a timepiece that must face adverse conditions — one upon which someone’s life might be dependent? Is legibility of paramount importance? Resistance to temperature change, or magnetism?

Yes. That’s Sinn’s answer, anyway, to these questions. A Sinn pilot’s watch is a timepiece made in such a considered, calculated fashion that it could conceivably stand up to the rigors of any challenging scenario — not merely one encountered at the control’s of an airplane.

Take the EZM9 Ti Testaf, for example: An oversized time-and-date model, it’s a brutish instrument whose capabilities and use cases far exceed those of most other watches in its price range. Housed in a fully tegimented 44mm titanium case with a sapphire crystal, a signed crown, and a luminous, bi-directional pilot’s bezel with a sapphire glass insert, it features a matte black dial with luminous indices, a matching ‘blade’ handset, an outer 1/5th-seconds track, and a date window at 3 o’clock. 

In addition to Sinn’s tegimented hardening technology, the EZM9 Ti Testaf also features ‘dry hold’ technology for protection from fogging and resistance to low pressure to prevent the crystal from popping off at high altitudes. Approved for use by the Technical Standard for Pilot's Watches (TESTAF) by the Aachen University of Applied Sciences, it’s powered by the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement and comes paired to a signed, black leather strap with orange stitching and a titanium pin buckle.

If you can find a tougher pilot’s watch for the money, we’re all ears. But until then, we can't recommend the EZM9 Ti Testaf highly enough!

OVERALL CONDITION

Case is in outstanding condition overall showing light signs of wear from gentle use. Luminous matte black dial with cream subsidiary registers and green/red power reserve indicator is in as-new condition with matching handset. Signed crown.
