With its ties to the great Gerald Genta — who was only 24 when he designed it — stunning looks, a horologically-significant movement and an interesting history to boot, the Polerouter is that one amazing value proposition that punches far above its weight class.
This particular Polerouter is special, however: A Reference 10234-2 “Deluxe” dating to the 1950s, it features a 36mm yellow gold case with 18mm lugs, an acrylic crystal, a signed “U” crown, a polished bezel, a sunburst silver and gold quadrant dial with arrowhead indices and a yellow gold, engine-turned chapter ring with an arrowhead handset. Powered by an automatic “bumper” movement, it’s a fun, all-gold edition of a truly important watch from the most famous watch designer in history.
When you strap it on your wrist you’ll quickly see why collectors are always on the hunt for exceptional Polerouters such as this one!
OVERALL CONDITION
The case is in fantastic condition overall showing light signs of wear consistent with age and use. Sunburst silver 'crosshair' dial with applied indices is and in excellent condition with matching 'dauphine' handset. Signed crown.
